The F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo was developed by Taiwans Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation as a lightweight multirole fighter designed to meet national defense requirements when access to advanced foreign fighters was limited. Entering service in the 1990s, the aircraft incorporated modern avionics, digital flight controls, and a combination of air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities. The upgraded F-CK-1C/D variant further improved the aircraft with enhanced systems, electronic warfare upgrades, and increased mission flexibility.
