The WAM80000 series is a two-axle covered freight car manufactured from 1960.
The mid-model series manufactured from 1968 was added to the fleet when the maximum speed of freight trains was changed to 75km/h in the timetable revision of the same year, and was manufactured until 1970 with changes to the exterior such as a pressed structure roof. The WAM80000 series manufactured for transporting fresh fish is classified as the 580000 series and has a white body.
